Top Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan has announced his support for the World Walks for Water and Sanitation!

Over 169,000 people are now registered to take part in the World Walks for Water and Sanitation in March! And the numbers of people signing up are increasing every day!

And this week, Asmoah Gyan, striker for the Ghanaian national football team, announced his support for the campaign and recorded a fantastic video letting us know why he is walking for water and sanitation:

Asamoah has also been tweeting about the campaign! Follow him on Twitter at @ASAMOAH_GYAN and retweet him too!

You can get a celebrity involved too!

In order to help you recruit participants for your walk and to raise the media profile of the World Walks for Water and Sanitation campaign, you might like to consider enlisting the support of a high-profile celebrity.  The celebrity could be famous locally, regionally, nationally or internationally and could be an athlete, actor, model, sportsman, journalist, author or even a TV star.

We have put together a short guide that we hope you will find useful when considering the role a celebrity could play in your Walk for Water and Sanitation, including tips on how to choose, recruit and liaise with celebrities.
